Genre(s): Contemporary Erotic Multicultural Western Foodie Rubenesque
On a working vacation in Montana, Chef Gabi Inez’s schedule allows her to enjoy planned activities and hangout with her cousin and his new family. She’s not looking for love, but spending time with a hunky cowboy sounds perfect. Gabi works hard, but every girl needs some fun. What if flirting leads to something more?
Sam Malone is the brains behind Blackbird, a guest and working ranch. Since his parents’ death, his sole purpose has been family and the ranch’s survival. Burned by love in the past, he avoids the distraction that comes with beautiful women. But what’s a cowboy to do when a sweet and sassy chef gets under his skin, only to be told by her overprotective cousin she’s off limits?
Hot anger rolled over him. Damn his stupid ass brother for scaring her. He grasped her hand and gently rubbed his thumb over the back of it, wanting to erase her long-ago hurts.
She wore a T-shirt with Come to the Dark Side, We Have Cookies emblazoned across the chest and boxer pajama bottoms with cookies on them. Her knees brushed his hips. He was suddenly aware he wasn’t wearing much. Hell, he hadn’t even buttoned his jeans. Sam released her hand and crossed his arms over his chest. In the background, Katy Perry warned about playing with magic.
“Sorry, my brother’s an immature jerk. I can superglue his butt to his chair or something.” A headlock followed by a noogie sounded really good right then.
“I appreciate the offer, but it’s not necessary.” She peeked up at him with a rueful expression. “I bet you aren’t afraid of anything.”
He shook his head. “I’m scared of spiders. The little bastards creep me out. I make Wyatt kill them as part of his big brother responsibilities.”
Her face lit up with her smile, and his pulse quickened in response. So damn sexy, and she wasn’t even trying….
